How is S. Gerber & Associates Unique?
Independence, dignity, and quality of life: We understand the significance of remaining independent and preserving one's dignity, comfort, and quality of life for as long as possible. With this objective in mind, S. Gerber & Associates first finds ways for individuals to remain in the comfortable surroundings of their own homes if at all possible, with assistance provided by outside resources. Once it is no longer feasible to receive adequate care in one's own home or becomes unaffordable, we understand the importance of finding an environment that is the most appropriate to providing whatever level of care or assistance is needed, while promoting an individual's independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Experience: We have first hand experience delivering long-term care anywhere in the continuum - whether it be at home, independent retirement community, assisted living community, skilled nursing facility, special Alzheimer's and dementia care facilities, adult day and respite facilities.
Network of long-term care professionals: We don't profess to have all the answers to your long-term care questions and concerns. That's why over the past fifteen years S. Gerber & Associates has built an extensive network of long-term care professionals with years of qualified experience to assist in getting answers! This network includes physicians specializing in the fields of geriatrics, neurology, psychology, and psychiatry, as well as social workers, registered dietary nutritionists, nurses and nurse practitioners, home health aides and agencies, estate and elder lawyers, CPA's, and financial planners.
Personal Attention and a Customized Plan: We don't just provide you with a self-evaluation form to assess your family member. While this may be helpful to start you thinking, a survey can only be informative. Everyone's circumstances are different, and thus a "cookie-cutter" self-help instruction manual can be misleading.
Our Commitment is to our Clients: S. Gerber & Associates' consulting fees come only from our clients and not from health care providers! We do not accept referral bonuses or compensation of any kind from any source other than the family members we represent. We are not employed by the government and therefore can offer our services to clients who will benefit from our experiences and skills the most. We are care managers, not case managers. Unlike case managers, our focus is first on the family member's needs and quality of life and then on working with what the family can afford.
