S. Gerber and Associates, Inc. - My Long-Term Care Services

Personal Caregiving Services

S. Gerber & Associates has always viewed each client in a holistic way; that is treating the entire person, not just a particular aging or medical diagnoses separately and disconnected from whatever other multiple aging issues the client may be going through. Just as important, is the client’s quality of life which must be viewed in total with the inner dynamics of the individual client as well as the inter-personal relationships with family members. Using an interdisciplinary approach, S. Gerber & Associates utilizes its care management expertise to expand its commitment by offering professional care givers to clients who may be capable of remaining at home with some assistance.

To further this objective, S. Gerber & Associates now provides thoroughly screened, insured, bonded, trained and experienced caregivers in a client’s home! Personal Caregiving Services has been established as a non-medical personal assistant service home health agency licensed by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. Personal Caregiving Services now provides:

  • A free needs assessment and care plan including care management and coordination.
  • Short or Long term assistance to clients at home, assisted living, or at the hospital from 4 hours up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Live-in arrangements are also available.
  • Caregivers assist with activities of daily living including dressing, bathing, and grooming, as well as meal preparation, transportation, errands, light housekeeping and laundry, and companionship.

The mission of Personal Caregiving Services is to maintain the quality of life for family members as well as their elders needing care and to help elders stay in their homes for as long as possible by:

  1. Long-range planning, to prevent crises from occurring
  2. Planning financially, so that client’s resources last as long as possible
  3. Strengthening the support of clients and their families to allow them to achieve the goals they have set for themselves with the assistance of the Care Manager
  4. Using an interdisciplinary approach that addresses all of the client’s needs as fully as possible
  5. Providing assistance in creating, implementing, and monitoring a Plan of Care to ensure it continually meets the needs and desires of the client
  6. Providing assistance with choosing and monitoring of alternative arrangements when remaining in the home is no longer practical or appropriate
